Came across a book called the "Diotima" and yes I know that in those days bound books as we know them did not really exists.

The humor is quite odd to us now but it does show the same underlying trends that we know in our contemporary jokes all to well. Have a read yourself.

I came across these articles about mechanical transmission of power over short and long distances. It does have its merits even this day if you ask me. If you have the space, means to and want to work with wind and water power in applications that don't really need electricity then this might be of use to you.

So for those that are interested in this here are the three articles:

I came across this site that promotes a philosophy where everyone makes parts and components for everyone. They call it a cooperative economy where all from the small local artisan to the big multinational can contribute.

And as such they have a lot of plans and blueprints for both components and finished objects that can be made an readily reused in other builds when they are outdated or no longer useful to you. And all this interconnectedness is realized by a simple measurement OS grid found in the "How-to Manual".

Enjoy

Edit: I also found this while looking into the subject of opensource constrution: www.gridbeam.com/wp-content/up…
Takes a while to load because it is a complete book.

I got this link today and I must say that this is one of the best educational not to mention relaxing interactive web page I've ever come across. One warning though! You're going to need an hour, give or take.
