Place mat

It's a place mat I made to put an oil evaporator on that uses a candel to evaporate the oil. The thing gets quit hot so I put cork on the top and bottom of the place mat.
It's made form a 17 cm square and 1 cm thick MDF board. The top cork is 10 cm in diameter and 4 mm thick. On the bottom there are four small cork pads that raise it 2 mm from the surface it is put on, heat can escape more easly from the MDF board that way.
The whole, before the cork was glued on, was given 2 layers of dark furniture wax.
